Belvedere Palace and Garden

Belvedere Palace and Garden in Vienna is a top tourist attraction that offers visitors an insight into the country’s rich history. This historically significant complex boasts of two Baroque palaces – the Upper and Lower Belvedere – that are surrounded by exquisitely landscaped gardens.

The palace was originally built as a summer residence for Prince Eugene of Savoy, one of the most successful military commanders in European history. The magnificent architecture and stunning gardens were designed to showcase his military achievements, which include defeating the Turks at the Battle of Zenta in 1697.

Belvedere Palace is now home to several museums showcasing Austrian art and culture. From Gustav Klimt’s iconic masterpiece “The Kiss” to priceless works by Egon Schiele, Oskar Kokoschka, and other renowned artists, the collection at Belvedere Palace is a testament to Austria’s rich artistic heritage.

Belvedere Garden is a paradise for nature lovers and art enthusiasts alike. The beauty of this magnificent garden is unparalleled, making it a must-see destination for anyone visiting the stunning city of Vienna. With its symmetrical layout, grand fountains, and well-manicured lawns, this enchanting garden is truly a sight to behold. But what sets Belvedere apart from other gardens is its impressive collection of artwork that spans across centuries.
