Cruise on Telemark Canal

Cruise on a centuries-old ship on the Telemark Canal

Imagine yourself travelling through the Telemark Canal in Norway, taking in a breath of fresh air, with fine cuisine, and a royal atmosphere. There is no better way to do just that than on board the M.S. Henrik Ibsen, or as it is better known, The King of the Telemark Canal. Built in 1907, the M/S Henrik Ibsen was commissioned by a company that operated in the Gothenburg Archipelago and now it operates as a luxury touring cruise ship, decorated in a 100 year old fashion that makes any patrone feel as if they have stepped back in time.

We invite you to sit back on the red velvet sofa under the chandelier on the promenade deck, and enjoy the vast, wild beauty Norway’s Telemark Canal has to offer!

Agatha Christie, eat your heart out. Named M/S Henrik Ibsen, this beautifully preserved ship retains all the hallmarks of its glory days. Think original English antiques, plush ruby sofas, crystal chandeliers and a regal blend of mahogany and brass. Let it glide you down the Telemark Canal, taking in Norway’s most splendorous surroundings.

Great, but no nead to take the trip all the way to Dalen Hotel. Good food on the boat.

Cruised from Lunde to Skien on the Henrik Ibsen. What a great experience! Amazing the things they accomplished back when.
