Offering the spaciousness and elegance of an earlier age with the comfort and amenities of today. Dating back to the early 1700’s, The Granville is one of Ireland’s oldest hotels and has played a prominent role in Waterford City’s rich, social and political history.

The hotel was purchased in 1979 by Liam and Ann Cusack and restored to its former gracious grandeur, combining modern comfort with old world charm and elegance. The Cusack family second generation Fiona, Jackie and Sandra now continue to uphold the Granville traditions of comfort, service and hospitality.

Committed to delivering gracious hospitality & creating outstanding memories, the team deliver friendly personal service and true Irish hospitality. The Granville provides luxurious and spacious accommodation, designed with your comfort in mind. Stained glass, tapestries, and abundant wood panelling lend to the charm of the Granville.

The Granville Hotel has hosted many historic figures in its history and was the birthplace of Thomas Francis Meagher who first flew the Irish Tricolour in Waterford before joining the 69th Regiment in the American Civil War, forming the Irish Brigade and becoming Brigadier General. Our Bar in the hotel is named in his honour.

Our Bianconi Restaurant is named after Charles Bianconi who set up Ireland’s first public transport system from the Granville Hotel and was known as the ‘King of Irish Roads’.
