Nestled between the historic port of Karystos and the Venetian fortress Castello Rosso, Montofoli Wine Estate is an ancient landmark renowned for its hospitality. Over the years it has been transformed from its ruined state and restored to its former glory; in modern times we remain passionate about preserving its unique original personality. Our four historic villas are havens of comfort, with a relaxing outdoor pool available for guests in the summer months.

The grounds of the estate are dotted with linden trees and citrus groves, while glimpses of our storied history can be seen through the Greek and Roman remains of ancient marble temples. Enjoy beautiful views, take a guided tour of the estate and sample our flagship Ktima Montofoli dessert wine, made with four indigenous grape varieties planted in 1986. A stay in one of the Montofoli Wine Estate villas is a once-in-a-lifetime experience you’ll treasure for years to come.

WEDDINGS

With its unique charm and intriguing history, Montofoli Wine Estate is the perfect venue for your wedding, family ceremony or anniversary event. Gather with friends and family in the grounds of our romantic vineyard or amidst the 12th century ruins of St Marco Church. Smaller ceremonies can be held amongst the vines, a memorable location in which to celebrate with loved ones. Our helpful staff members are on hand to advise on options for lighting, music and food for your event.

EVENTS & INTIMATE DINNERS

Exclusive events, small gatherings and intimate dinners find the perfect home in our Venetian House living room, built in the 1300s. Three apsed window spaces and the adjacent Pascha’s Terrace are at your disposal, with each room catering for groups of 10 people. Soak in the incredible atmosphere at Montofoli Wine Estate, a superb choice for exclusive events.

WINE TASTING

Indulge in a delicious private wine tasting at Montofoli Wine Estate, where you’ll discover the rich flavours of our three dry styles (part of the Myrtilos brand) and our flagship dessert wine, Ktima Montofoli 2013. Gather at one of our estate’s historic sites to learn more about our vineyards, raise a glass to our historic wine traditions and enjoy some light snacks.
