July 8, 1600. That’s when an inn was officially recorded on the site of Hotel Stefanie for the first time – the only inn to have been mentioned repeatedly in the building registers from then on. Hotel Stefanie is, therefore, demonstrably the oldest hotel in Vienna, and for over four hundred years, has been providing excellent hospitality, food, and accommodation just minutes away from the capital’s first district. Owned by the Schick family for four generations, we’ve poured everything into honouring this hotel’s heritage while preparing it for its bright future. Throughout, you’ll find antiques that have been handpicked by us – including silverware, porcelain, glassware, clocks and furniture – as well as items from the estate of Crown Princess Stephanie, after which the property was renamed. Hotel Stefanie has also been renovated and filled with modern amenities and technologies… so while the atmosphere here is thick with the charm of bygone days, modern travellers have everything they need to be comfortable. Like the rest of the hotel, we’ve taken special care to create a historic ambience, here – you’ll take your meals in a banqueting hall filled with imperial flair, antiques, and art.
Unforgettable weddings are our forte at Hotel Stefanie. For smaller ceremonies, we have a beautiful library that can be used, and for parties of up to 176 people, we can create a beautiful ballroom by merging our banqueting hall with enchanting courtyard garden.
