Bucharest has a long and rich history. The first written mention of the city dates back to 1459, and it has since been ruled by everyone from the Ottomans to the Communists. As a result, Bucharest is a unique blend of East and West, with something to offer everyone.

The historic center is also home to some of Bucharest’s most iconic landmarks. The most famous is probably the Palace of Parliament, which was built during the Communist era.
