About the painter:

Hieronymus Bosch (1450-1516) was a Dutch painter whose influence has spread across centuries. He is best known for his fantastical illustrations of religious concepts and narratives, such as moral tales, moral lessons and apocalyptic visions. His works are vivid in color and filled with often grotesque imagery that has been described as “macabre” and “nightmarish”.

Bosch’s most famous painting is The Garden of Earthly Delights, which consists of three panels depicting Heaven, Earth, and Hell. This painting is considered to be one of the best examples of Bosch’s unique style; it displays intricate detail and imaginative creatures alongside traditional Christian iconography. Additionally, Bosch often included elements from Dutch culture in his works such as windmills, ships and plants native to the Netherlands.

The Bosch Art Center is fabulous! There are no original paintings here but all of his works are displayed as high quality reproductions where we could get very close and open and close the triptychs. The included booklet is excellent and describes the paintings and tells in what great museum around the world the piece resides. We had a private...

It's a museum about art of Jheronimus Bosch inside a former Catholic church. It's hard to believe that Jheronimus is older than Rembrandt, Vermeer and Frans Hals, but he had already made surrealism paintings, centuries before it became something trendy in art world. Although the paintings here are just replicas but it's very meaningful to explore...

I love all the art pieces inspired by Jheronimus Bosch’s works. This man to den Bosch is like Gaudi to Barcelona. Definitely worth visiting and this architecture, seems like a church, itself is beautiful. The staff there are very nice.

Even though none of the works are original, the museum does a great work of presenting the messages of the artist. The visitors can climb to the bell tower and enjoy panoramic view of the city.

This museum is full of surprises. I enjoyed the modern approach on Jheronimus Bosch's artworks and the guide book helped me understand his work better. Staff provides the needed information in a professional, helpful and friendly manner. Take all the time you need, warm clothes (because it's really cold inside) and some friends and enjoy the...
