With sweeping views of the Atlantic, rolling green hills, and lush mountains, the Ring of Kerry is one of Ireland’s most beautiful drives in what is one of the most spectacular parts of the entire country. Thousands flock to County Kerry each year, and once having driven the Ring of Kerry, one will understand why.

The Ring of Kerry is a scenic drive around the Iveragh Peninsula in southwest Ireland’s County Kerry. The drive takes approximately 3.5 hours, if one were to drive the whole way through, though many can easily spend a week or two touring the Ring of Kerry.

Skellig Michael, a rocky island with an abandoned 7th-century Christian monastery, is a major destination point, having Recently been featured in Star Wars: Episode 8, with several boats from Portmagee making the 12km crossing during the warmer months.

Many begin this drive in the quaint, mountain town of Killarney and venture out on to the road to the far west and back again.

Killarney National Park is not to be missed and many find they can spend days in most any of the destinations along the Ring of Kerry.

With a little research, one can have a spectacular tour of Ireland along the Ring of Kerry!
