Mizen Head Light House

Mitzen Head Signal Station, one of the most stunning sites to be toured along the route of the Wild Atlantic Way, rests itself on a protruding headland as far southwest as one can get on the island. The site has become well known for tourists and locals who wish to capture the pure raw, wildness of the Atlantic.

As massive waves crash into the rock and cliff sides of Mitzen Head, it is hard not to feel that the world around you is truly wild and that nature, no matter what, nature will always have the upper hand..

Established in 1992, the Mitzen Tourism Co. aims to provide visitors with a full experience of this beautiful place, because as with much of Ireland, Mitzen Head is more than a natural wonder, but the human history of the sites is equally interesting.

The facilities at Mizen, including Mizen Head Visitor Centre, Mizen Shop, Mizen Cafe, Mizen Head Signal Station/Mizen Vision, Mizen Information & e-Centre (Goleen) are managed and operated by Mizen Tourism Co-operative Society Ltd.

While touring Mitzen Head, visitors have access to any of the above mentioned facilities to be able to fully enjoy a day out in nature, learning about Ireland’s lush history and culture.

Absolutely gorgeous. Three or four totally different views that will take your breath away. Drive from Skibberdeen was actually pretty easy outside of the last ten minutes. Large parking area. Lots of stairs and inclines, but well worth it.
