La Petite France

The picturesque quarter La Petite France is the historic centre of Strasbourg and sits on the western banks of the river, the Grande Île.

With buildings from the 16th century, La Petite France is a perfect place to capture the past.

It is easy to spend the day in this tightly packed neighbourhood, strolling from cafe to cafe with warm baguettes and fresh croissants in hand. To have a taste of France, this area will leave you satisfied and breathless from both its elegant beauty and metropolitan fun!

You don’t need a jam packed itinerary to make the most of this culture-crammed island: simply wandering the streets and admire the historic scenery and structures as you stroll by, and take particular note of the Rue du Bain-aux-Plantes. Each half-timbered house on this street is painted white and sports various sizes and shapes, creating an aesthetic that leaves quite the impression

An amazing place, beautiful houses surrounded by the river flowing between them. Very pleasant walking and soaking the amazing atmosphere. Christmas 🎄 time is unique, but lots of people know that, . so the place is very crowded. Pick a restaurant or cafe to make your visit relaxed and tasty😉 Hope I've helped you. If I did, please press 👍

Perfect place to stroll, snack, and pretend...

La Petite France is absolutely stunning and a must-see when visiting Strasbourg. The half-timbered houses, canals, and cobblestone streets make it feel like stepping back in time. The area is full of charm, with plenty of cafés and restaurants to enjoy, and every corner is picture-perfect. It’s very walkable, with beautiful views of the river...

Most charming part of old city of Strasbourg with half-timbered houses and romantic canals. Walking the streets fells like stepping back time without the smell of tanneries and bustle of mills.

It’s a lovely place with historical buildings and the canals. However, please be aware of pick pockets!!!! We went there today and a group of around 5 or 6 (4 or 5 women and 1 men ) opened my mums back pack and tried to steal things from us. After they didn’t find anything valuable from my mum, they turned out trying to pull my auntie’s...
