Gypsotheca Antonio Canova

In the small town of Possagno in Italy, there lies a unique museum that houses the works of one of the greatest neoclassical sculptors of all time: Antonio Canova. The Gypsotheca building was designed to house and preserve the work of the most famous Italian artists of the late 18th and early 19th centuries.

The Gypsotheca Antonio Canova is a must-see for any art lover, as it contains not only Canova’s original plaster models, but also the marble sculptures that were inspired by them. He is best known for his sculptures of mythological and historical figures. The museum houses many of his original works, as well as copies of some of his most famous sculptures.

The Tempio Antonio Canova in Possagno is a small, but significant, church that contains many of the artist’s famous sculptures. The temple was designed by Canova himself and completed in 1822. It is one of the most important examples of Neo-Classical architecture in Italy. The exterior of the temple is simple and unadorned, but the interior is full of opulent sculptures. The temple offers stunning views of the surrounding countryside. Visitors to the Tempio Antonio Canova will be amazed by its beauty and uniqueness.
