Cliffs of Moher (UNESCO)

The Cliffs of Moher are an awe-inspiring natural wonder located in County Clare, Ireland. The majestic cliffs rise to a height of nearly 700 feet at their highest point and stretch for 8 kilometers along the Irish coastline. The spectacular views from the Cliffs of Moher have attracted visitors from around the world since they were opened to the public in 1907.

The Cliffs are home to many species of birds, including puffins and gannets, as well as other wildlife such as dolphins and seals that can be spotted out on the Atlantic Ocean. Visitors can also explore O’Brien’s Tower which was built by Sir Cornelius O’Brien in 1835. This tower offers some of the most breathtaking panoramic views stretching all along Ireland’s west coast.

The Cliffs of Moher Walking Trail is an iconic hiking path that follows the dramatic coast of Ireland’s west. The 8 km trail takes visitors along breathtaking views of the stark cliffs, as well as through lush pastures and quaint villages. This picturesque route is a favorite among tourists—and for good reason!

Stunning view, must-see for any Ireland-trip! The walkways are secured properly and the restaurant is built into the hill, so cool! The buses are not reliable 100% of the time, so we tramped the way back to our hotel. Because we arrived just before 9am and the visitor centre hadn‘t open yet, we were allowed to go in for free.

The interactive museum here is definitely worth a visit, especially if you have kids with you. There is a parking / entrance fee with a fairly large parking...
