As it’s affectionately known, the “Chesa” first swung open its frescoed doors in the 1930s and today offers 12 cosy alpine-styled bedrooms. Our hotel is a family-run establishment owned by Barbara Guler, whose mother, Ruth, ran the nearby Wynegg Hotel for over 60 years. Often referred to as the ‘Matron of Klosters’, Ruth Guler was a much-loved figure known for her no-nonsense outlook to her rich and often fabulous guests. This approach has been passed down to the next generation, and our charming, intimate mountain bolthole is favoured by all who spend time in the ski-lovers paradise of Klosters.
Luxuriating in incredible mountain scenery, Klosters is part of Parsenn — an area encompassing about 60 miles of skiing suitable for all levels. In addition, Klosters benefits from the separate Madrisa area, ideally suited to beginners. There’s plenty to do here year-round, though, with hundreds of hiking trails with lush valley views punctuated by waterfalls.
Our Gault Millau-standard restaurant and bar is a popular après-ski spot, and crackling wood fires will warm you after a day on the slopes in Säli, our cosy lounge area.
Walk into any room in our hotel and you’ll immediately be greeted by an array of antiques and top-quality local craftmanship. Our 12 rooms are traditional and cozy, with fragrant local pinewood panelling and striped, soft linens. South-facing balconies offer breathtaking mountain views over the Grisons countryside. Well-behaved canine friends are also welcome.
Classic French cuisine with a dash of modernity are hallmarks of Austrian native and acclaimed Head Chef Ronald Fressner’s style. Seasonal menus embrace regional ingredients; every element, from freshly baked bread to rich soups and glossy sauces, is made in-house. Recognised by Gault Millau, our restaurant seats 100 people and is regarded as one of the finest in Klosters.
Fancy something different for your next special occasion? Our bowling alley, painted by the renowned Swiss artist Alois Carigiet, is one-of-a-kind. Two bowling lanes allow for competitive games with room for spectators in the Carigiet Tavern. With a menu of mouth-watering cheese fondue or a moreish raclette, the Tavern is a great meeting space for families and friends. The room adapts to include a dance floor so you can party into the small hours.
