Along the Dalälven River’s banks and on the fringe of Färnebofjärden National Park, Gysinge Herrgård is where history and nature quietly converge. This lovingly restored manor, nestled in a 17th-century forging community, invites you to wander among centuries-old buildings and stories set against a backdrop of rustling woodlands and shimmering water.
Whether you’re setting off on nearby trails, gathering for a thoughtful conference, marking a special occasion, or simply enjoying locally inspired dishes in the Orangery, Gysinge offers a gentle invitation to step into Sweden’s layered past and serene present.
Founded in the 1660s as Gästrikland’s only Walloon mill, Gysinge played a pioneering role in Sweden’s industrial age — notably with the first electric steel furnace in 1900. Once a training centre for pensioners, it now opens its doors to those seeking an authentic connection to nature and heritage. We look forward to welcoming you to this quietly extraordinary corner of Sweden.

At the Orangery, the kitchen honours the rich harvest of Gysinge’s surrounding landscape with a menu that shifts gracefully through the seasons, yet always includes beloved classics. Here, simplicity and freshness take centre stage, with locally sourced ingredients telling the story of the region’s natural bounty. Whether you’ve spent the day hiking, attending a meeting, celebrating a wedding, or simply seeking respite, the Orangery and the snug Café Udden by the Dalälven River welcome you with warmth, flavour, and a true sense of place.
Our sauna, perched beside the Dalälven River, offers a truly immersive experience—swim directly in the river then warm up in the sauna while soaking in enchanting views. Just a short stroll from the manor, the sandy beach and inviting bathing jetty provide the perfect spot to relax and create summer memories with loved ones. For those who enjoy outdoor fitness, our al fresco gym lets you exercise in the fresh air, surrounded by nature’s soundtrack.
At Gysinge Manor, weddings blend natural beauty and historic charm. Say your vows by the Dalälven River, in the park near the Orangery, or choose a nearby church. In colder months, the Manor’s elegant Borgarn hall offers a cozy alternative. Celebrate with dinner and dancing at Café Udden, where the river’s gentle sound adds magic to the evening. Our seven modern conference rooms also accommodate events from intimate gatherings to parties of up to 80, perfect for both celebrations and team-building.
