Historic Hertogenbosch owes its name to the Dukes of Brabant, who built a hunting lodge here where the rivers Dommel and Aa merge. They needed a political centre to control the northern part of their duchy, and thus, ‘Hertogen’s Bosch’ was born – literally translated to ‘the Duke’s forest’. Of course, nowadays, there are more historic buildings than trees filling the streets – many of which are affiliated with the famous artist, Hieronymous Bosch, who was also born in this fascinating locale.
With some amazing chapters in its story to tell, Hertogenbosch is a dream destination for budding historians… and those with a love of architecture and design. Embodying the best of both, Golden Tulip Hotel Central combines eclectic styles that overlap and work beautifully in sync. Each of our Suites have been designed individually, with our Penthouse Suite, in particular, serving as the epitome of luxury: showcasing timeless interiors, detailed decor and abundance of amenities and furnishings.
What’s more, our historic hotel is in a prime spot. From our brasserie’s elevated terrace, enjoy views of the bustling mediaeval market square while enjoying top-tier fare. It’s a wonderful place to watch the world go by, before heading back inside to use our fitness centre, lounge areas and more.
