Built over 200 years ago, our historic home retains its original personality and is named after the Ancient Greek title for the Maritsa river, Hebros. Located in the Old Town, which nestles on top of three hills in the beautiful Plovdiv, we are just minutes from the city centre. A restored Revival-style house — a 19th-century wooden-frame construction built by the emerging class of Bulgarian merchants, we offer all our guests an authentic Bulgarian welcome.
The Old Town, is crammed with Bulgarian renaissance-style houses on either side of cobbled streets and dotted with fine restaurants and art galleries. Steeped in history, you don’t have to venture far to spot remnants of Thracian and Greek influences along the passageways. Plovdiv was 4,000 years old when the Romans arrived, constructing an impressive amphitheatre and used today for operas and concerts. A city bursting with life, the temptation to spend your days wandering the narrow streets will be significant, but the Rhodope Mountains to the south are within easy reach for day trips, hikes and monastery visits.
Plovdivians often refer to themselves as the ‘ailiatsi’, or laid-back ones. During your stay, we encourage you to sit back and relax. Hushed and luxurious, with oodles of rustic charm, there’s no better stop in Plovdiv to rest and reflect after a day exploring our beautiful city.
Each of our 11 guest rooms is full of character. The maximalist antique-style guest rooms are filled with authentic furnishings, polished wooden floors and vintage rugs. The spacious two-bedroom apartment in the main building sleeps four, which is ideal for a family getaway. In addition, we offer two rooms — a double and a maisonette — styled in a pared-back, more modern approach.
Savour modern Bulgarian cuisine at our award-winning restaurant. Sophisticated decor matched with unrivalled hospitality; choose to dine in our main room or on the stone-floored, leafy terrace. Committed to slow food and indigenous ingredients, menus are skillfully crafted by Head Chef, Dobromir Todorov, who ranks among the best chefs in Bulgaria.
